Thrilled with the chance to again work with documentary filmmaker Judd Ehrlich, we created the closing title sequence for his latest feature, 2016 Tribeca Film Festival official selection, "Keepers of the Game." The film follows a girls' high school lacrosse team as they make strides to leave their mark on the game - a sport born in the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory and traditionally for men only.
This project presented a unique design challenge as we wanted to create a sequence that would herald the girls' native heritage but not cross the line into cultural insensitivity with misused icons or symbols. We eventually landed on a look inspired by the poster design from the 1972 Munich Olympics that would incorporate game footage and allow us to highlight the intensity and power of the girls in the game.
